Ambien.
Ambien (zolpidem) is a powerful prescription sedative that you can use if you need to treat insomnia. This medicine affects the chemicals in the brain that sometimes get imbalanced and prevent the patient from enjoying healthy sleep patterns. Ambien is supposed to be taken about 5-10 minutes before going to sleep and will make it possible for you to enjoy 7-8 hours of healthy sleep. Make sure you do not get up after just several hours of sleep, as this may cause memory problems and drowsiness for the rest of your day. If you stop taking Ambien after long-term treatment, withdrawal symptoms are possible, such as stomach pain, muscle cramps, anxiety, seizure, nausea, vomiting, panic, or sweating. The withdrawal symptoms mentioned are likely to go away on their own, but it's still a good idea to discuss them with your health care provider. An overdose of Ambien can be fatal, so make sure you report any of such cases directly to your emergency center. The following symptoms are possible: light-headedness, fainting, confusion, sleepiness, and shallow breathing. Mild side effects are sometimes possible when taking Ambien and can include constipation, blurred vision, headache, dizziness, nausea, lack of coordination, sore throat, stuffy nose, muscle pain, and some other ones.
